Child Africa has committed the organisation to repairing various structural deficiencies at the Kiambere School, which is located approx. two hours northeast of Nairobi. The people living in this area are very poor and the school buildings are in very poor condition. The school has a boarding facility, which consists of one big hall –like room and houses approximately three hundred boys, of which many are orphans. Staying inside the dormitory is almost unbearable due to the heat. When it rains, beds in the dormitory have to be moved continuously to avoid the rain, as the corrugated iron roof is full of holes.
The girl’s dormitory, toilets and both classrooms are in very poor condition. Child Africa will start the repairs where they are most needed and then move on to rectify less important issues as funds become available.
